Our Mission

Our mission is to connect, educate, and empower individuals and communities to participate effectively in civic life, organize around shared values, and drive both local and systemic change through coalition-building and practical action.

Our Vision

We envision a society where every person has the knowledge, tools, and community support to shape a just, resilient, and responsive democracy – starting in their own neighborhood.

Who We Are

CivicDuties.org is a community for people who want to do more than just sign a petition or react to the news. We bring together pragmatic idealists – people who care deeply about democracy, responsibility, and progress (both online and in real life) – and give them the support and structure to make lasting change.

Why We’re Different

  • Coalition-First: We don’t just collect signatures. We help people organize – by district, city, county, and state – so when the moment comes, you’re not alone, but part of a ready team.
  • Systemic Solutions: We move beyond surface-level fixes. Every campaign is mapped to the deeper structures – laws, incentives, and institutions – that actually shape our world.
  • From Concern to Capability: We guide you from awareness to effective action, whether that means testifying at city hall, drafting a policy proposal, or mobilizing your neighborhood.
  • Community-Led and Transparent: No corporate agenda. No party line. Our platform is open-source and our direction is guided by you – the community.
  • Local Power, National Impact: Real change begins locally. We help you take action where you live, while staying connected to a national movement for reform.

How We Organize

CivicDuties.org helps you find and stay connected to your community – online and in real life.

  • Groups by Power Structure: When you join, you’re connected with others in your district, city, county, and state. This allows for both local focus and the strength of a larger network.
  • Tiered Participation: Whether you want to observe, participate, or help organize, you can choose your level of involvement – while protecting your privacy.
  • Consensus and Action: Groups deliberate, build consensus, and take action together – whether responding to an immediate issue or working on long-term reform.
  • From Online to On-the-Ground: We make it easy to bridge digital connections with real-world action – organize local meetings, testify at hearings, or launch community projects with the backing of your group.
  • Support & Accountability: Facilitators help guide each group, and transparent tools ensure everyone knows what’s happening and how to get involved.
